Alaska’s governor appoints members of the Board of Fisheries, which means fisheries policy is on the ballot.
After meeting with candidates and considering their understanding of commercial fishing, KSA has endorsed:
Click Bishop
Jonathan Kreiss-Tomkins — JKT
Tom Begich
Matt Heilala
These four candidates have demonstrated an understanding of Alaska fisheries and a willingness to put fisheries policy over party politics.
There are 17 candidates in the August 18, 2026 Primary, and voters may select only ONE.
